I’ve been designing and developing web apps for a long time and I’m currently an Engineering Manager at Zillow. Outside of my day job I build art installations, furniture, and embedded electronics - chasing my curiosities and seeing how I can use them to connect with others! I also host the hit podcast Cheese & Weather 🧀 🌩️ with Zuzana Kunckova and Dave Hicking.
Halfmoon Chimes at Eaux Claires 2026
I devised and built a custom interactive instrument / art installation for Eaux Claires 2026. Festival attendees played the instrument live, recorded their performances, or replayed performances from other artists.
The Kilopixel
I spent 6 years building a ridiculous 1000-pixel display called the kilopixel. I let the internet draw on it and livestreamed 24/7 for a couple of weeks, and it's probably the most popular and wide-reaching thing I've ever put on the internet. I wrote an in-depth recap about the experience, which was pretty surreal! It now lives in my webcam background.
The Pair-amid Scheme
In April 2024 I kicked off an experiment: pairing with strangers. It's morphed into The Pair-amid Scheme (h/t Joe) and I've paired with dozens of new friends from around the world.
I highly recommend putting yourself out there and pairing with a random person from the internet! I think you'll be surprised by the results. If you need a kick start, feel free to book a spot on my calendar and I'll get you started.
